Assistant Director | Freedom of Information
Gillian Beaumont Legal is currently seeking EL1 Freedom of Information Practitioners to join an exciting new team of a Commonwealth Government Agency located in Canberra.
As the Assistant Director of Freedom of Information, you will assist the Director in coordinating Freedom of Information requests. Your responsibilities will include assisting and making FOI decisions; coordinating in-house and outsourced services and; preparing briefing material for Ministers, Board papers and media releases. As an EL1 in the team you will also manage the FOI Support Team by training officers and supporting FOI officers produce draft FOI decisions.
Overall, our ideal candidates will be reliable, have excellent attention to detail and able to be flexible and adaptable to changing environments. As a delegate of FOI decisions, you must have a high standard of integrity and be able to make correct FOI decisions that withstand external scrutiny.

These opportunities are being offered on an initial 12-month contract period with possibility of further extension.
